Shhhh! Mom, I'm Recording!

Nobody, live at the Zeitgeist art gallery. Cambridge Ma. 10/29/98 8-10p.m.

Cookies, cider, and bright stage lighting - the October 29 nobody show at Zeitgeist Gallery

in Cambridge was like being in the rec room I never had.

The band played a two hour set for a packed living room audience who toe-tapped through

such jewels as the searing "Emotional Pain," the avuncular "Relatives," and

the nostalgic "Gotta Set Them Pins Down," all the while keeping their feet off the

upholstery.

As always, the instrument lineup shuffled like a Vegas dealer, dizzying all those who

neglected to focus on a fixed point in space. Nobody has set a new standard for all pitch

pipe, finger piano, and musical saw trios. The members are also adept at coaxing music

from instruments that would befuddle the average Joe Satriani but would entertain an infant

for hours.

Talent, humor, chops, and supportive relatives - nobody has it all. Catch them at their

next gig in early December so you can say you knew them when....
