NO RACHAEL HERE (LIVE AT BRANDEIS) 2000, running time: 64 minutes,NB19

ONE of the many interesting things about being in the group 'nobody' is that people often ask us, 'what kind of music do you play?' a simple enough question, but one that really isn't simple to answer. we have so many tapes, and the songs and styles on them are all different. the live shows we do also differ from show to show, depending on the place we play, the instruments we bring,

and the audience that we play for. and so, we thought it might be interesting to finally make some 'live' tapes, which will hopefully be reflective of what we do live, or at least what we were doing in 1999.

this tape is the second in a series, the first tape of which "live at radio free soundworks" gave some examples of what we play in a more traditional 'acoustic' setting. this second tape"no rachael here, live at brandeis" is more reflective of our live improvisational shows..... all of the material here was recorded live at BRANDEIS university in waltham massachusetts, USA and broadcast LIVE on WBRS 100.1FM, on 12/1/99. with the exception of the first song, and the next to last song, all of

the musical material here is improvised....... in essence, what we did was take the words to some

our older songs, and made up new music on the spot to go underneath them..... there were three

members in the group at the time, and each of them played or sang whatever they felt at that moment.......we each brought several different instruments to the show, and switched

between them, as we felt the need, sometimes even changing instruments in mid- song.......and so, the music on this tape has never existed in this form before, and probably will not exist in this form again......
