You Don't Kill Time marks the beginning of a slight left turn for nobody, as the lyrics gradually shift from direct story oriented material, to a more poetic, stream of consciousness flow, with their ever present vocal harmonies on top for good measure.................themes of love, loss, and renewal weave throughout the tape, taking the listener on a ride through the heart and mind............a warm combination of acoustic and electric instruments and some heavy duty root note bass tones, with drums that are a whole year older, and samples that just won't quit............also includes remnants of yet another cross country bus trip..........

this tape also marks the beginning of nobody's friendship with SOUNDWORKS STUDIOS, in watertown mass., where the recording was done(and almost all of our stuff has been copied), and where the first discovery was made of one of many references in the groups' material to a parrot(leroy gets nostalgic)..............our friends at soundworks really are good people, and we highly recommend them to you...........

other notable events happening here include the first "love song"(love song #3,684) written by the band, who throughout their days have had a healthy disdain for " the love song", in the tradition of Frank Zappa, among others, ................the tape also includes several meaty sound collages, keeping their art school sensibilities well lubed and loaded..........glimpses into the minds of the republican presidential administration and the los angeles police department, and other heads that are like bad neighborhoods and should not be travelled into alone.............this tape also includes several of the many tunes which are nearly impossible to play live, and thus, only exist in this format...........let's go to the phones:

"i think the vocal mix is fine. i heard a reference to a parrot, and i usually don't listen to the words." -Brian Capouch, Audio Engineer,( part time exterminator)

"why don't you just come out and say what you mean?" -Professional Grad Student, Minnesota

"i'm not sure this is really 'appropriate' for a coffeehouse."- anonymous coffeehouse manager from Ipswich
