"the concept": this is one of a series of three tapes titled 'hit record? hit record!'(chapters one two and three), which are loosely based on the same set of lyrics. in actual fact, the idea actually came from a small peice written on the autoharp, which was then given to each band member along with the question "what should we do to this?".....what followed were somewhat different ideas, causing us to consider what would happen if all of us worked separately on music for the same set of lyrics.............and so, this tape is part TWO of this "trilogy"!!!!!

HIT RECORD? HIT RECORD! contains vastly different versions of the songs "autoharp", "emotional pain", "cement blockhead", "nukes", "foriegn song", "dog catcher of love" and "reginald"......all of which appeared on the tape "hit record? hit record! chapter one.".......lots of diversity here, each song with it's own little space and way of life.......this tape also contains some faux celtic wanderings on "the isle of langerhans" and an almost actual polka on "spice girls polka", ..........we welcome our almos t czecholslovakian lead singer on "rock and roll gestures", while "backwards cows underwater" is yet another in the long line of songs dedicated to mom........also included are the intimate moments of a solo clarinet improvisation on "i saw a ufo" and an acoustic guitar improv known sometimes as: "a cold"......last but not least, the extremely experimental "what will tomorrow be like" brings a whole new meaning to the term 'sample'......all in all, this tape picks right up where the other one left off..splendid..won't you order yours today???? (before the next one comes out)
